Ok, so I have the biggest sweet tooth known to existence. It's my guilty pleasure for sure, and also a part of the reason why I joined in on starting Pint Size Pair. Finding healthy alternatives to the sweets I loved was just the beginning of my journey. Ice cream is one of my absolute favorite desserts, but luckily today there are tons of alternatives to sugar loaded, dairy ice cream out there! But I discovered something better. This easy 1 ingredient, frozen treat is so good I don't even need the bad stuff (with the occasional trip to "Big Gay Ice Cream", this is the closest I can get to their "Salty Pimp") I promise, this dessert is perfect every time. A play on toppings is really what makes it. |
Ingredients:
1 1/2 frozen bananas
1 TB all-natural peanut butter
Today's toppings:
1/4 C Dark Chocolate Morsels, melted & drizzled
handful of walnuts
Directions:
1 1/2 frozen bananas
1 TB all-natural peanut butter
Today's toppings:
1/4 C Dark Chocolate Morsels, melted & drizzled
handful of walnuts
Directions:
- Cut frozen bananas into cubes and add to power blender or food processor. Toss in the peanut butter or any additional flavoring such as cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla bean, etc.
- Pulse a few times, scraping sides into middle a few times, until it turns into an ice cream consistency. Avoid over-pulsing.
- Serve immediately & drizzle melted chocolate on top. In a minute or so, it will turn into a crispy chocolate topping! Enjoy (:
